POSTING REQUIREMENTS

Posting Requirements, Generally

California employers must meet certain workplace posting requirements. An employer may request printed copies of required postings from the applicable regulatory agencies, which are usually available at no cost from the agency. An employer needs to replace a posting only when the content of the posting changes. The language of the postings generally stays the same, with the exception of Industrial Wage Commission Orders, which are updated annually.

NOTE: Effective January 1, 2022, Lab C §1207 provides that when an employer is required to physically post information, the employer may also distribute that information to employees by e-mail with the document or documents attached. Doing so, however, does not alter the employer’s obligation to physically display the required posting.
